President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda.
The President of Ukraine thanked his Lithuanian counterpart for providing Ukraine with another batch of AstraZeneca vaccine. For his part, Gitanas Nausėda thanked Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the decision to provide humanitarian aid to protect the Lithuanian border.
The leaders discussed the current security situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border as the number of illegal migrants significantly increased. The President of Lithuania noted that a relative stabilization of the situation has been achieved so far.
The interlocutors coordinated high-level bilateral dialogue activities for the near future. Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed his Lithuanian counterpart about the preparation of large-scale events to be held in Kyiv on August 23-24 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
Separately, the heads of state discussed the implementation of joint cultural and humanitarian projects. Gitanas Nausėda praised the implementation by the Ukrainian side of an important project to restore the tombstone of Prince Konstanty Ostrogski in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
