President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

Despite the mild course of the epidemic, Greece, however, is forced to impose stricter quarantine closing shops and entertainment venues. The President of Ukraine wished health to the Greek people. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Katerina Sakellaropoulou agreed that an important issue in this context is the solidarity distribution of the certified vaccine in the world. At the request of the President of Ukraine Katerina Sakellaropoulou noted that Greece would help speed up the obtaining of the vaccine by Ukraine.
The leaders noted the significant potential for the development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Greece, in particular in the fields of agriculture, space and shipbuilding.
"I am confident that by joint efforts we will be able to restore the dynamics of our trade. I hope that the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission will take place as soon as possible," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
The leaders focused on discussing the tourism opportunities of the two countries and increasing tourist flows after the end of the pandemic.
"Greece is one of the most popular tourist destinations for Ukrainians. We will be glad to simplify international tourism," the President of Ukraine said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked for Greece's support in the issues of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. He spoke about the key priorities of our country in cooperation with the EU and further strengthening of Ukraine's cooperation with NATO as a partner with enhanced opportunities.
Katerina Sakellaropoulou stressed that Greece had always supported and would continue to support Ukraine's European aspirations and deepening association with the European Union in all areas.
The President of Ukraine also expressed gratitude for the support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, and the President of the Hellenic Republic commended the progress in reforms in Ukraine under the leadership of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President of Ukraine noted that this year is special for our country and Greece - Ukraine will celebrate the 30th anniversary of independence, and Greece - the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, the history of which is closely linked to Ukrainian Odesa, where the Greek national liberation organization “Filiki Eteria” was founded.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited the President of Greece to take part in the events marking the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, as well as to join the Crimean Platform summit. The possibility of holding joint events in Ukraine in the context of celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution was discussed.
