President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Federal President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen.
The parties expressed content with the coordination of actions of both states in the issues of mutual evacuation of citizens, which became an example of successful bilateral cooperation in overcoming the consequences of the spread of COVID-19.
"I appreciate the efforts of the Austrian government to help Ukrainians who have had difficulties in evacuation," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
In particular, the humanitarian transit of our citizens by road transport from other European countries and the extension of their legal stay in Austria without the application of penalties were highly appreciated.
During the conversation, the President of Ukraine also drew attention to the successful activities of the Austrian government in the context of the spread of coronavirus and expressed support for all citizens of this country at such a difficult time for the international community.
The President of Austria congratulated his Ukrainian counterpart on the adoption of a bill improving some mechanisms regulating banking activities. Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Alexander Van der Bellen for Austria's support in cooperation with international financial institutions, which is necessary for the stable operation of the Ukrainian financial system.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed Alexander Van der Bellen about the development of the situation in Donbas, commending Austria's continued support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The President expressed hope that Austria would actively support Ukraine's steps towards European integration.
The parties agreed to discuss the possibility of carrying out previously planned measures after the stabilization of the situation with coronavirus in both countries.
