The President of Ukraine Received the Letters of Credence from the Newly Appointed Ambassadors of Poland, Australia, Thailand, Ghana and Uganda

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received letters of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Jarosław Guzy, Ambassador of Australia to Ukraine Paul Lehmann, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Ukraine Urasa Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to Ukraine Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, and Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to Ukraine Stephen Mubiru, who have started their missions in our country.

The ceremony traditionally took place in the territory of St. Sophia of Kyiv National Conservation Area.

Congratulating the Ambassador of Poland on the start of his diplomatic mission to Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Polish people for supporting our country from the first days of the full-scale war.

"We are grateful for the shelter for a large number of Ukrainians, for the humanitarian and military assistance," he said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted the personal contribution of the Polish leadership to the consolidation of international efforts in support of Ukraine.

They discussed cooperation in the defense sector with a focus on air defense and other key needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as well as the preparation and holding of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.

They also touched upon Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the importance of Poland's support for our country's path to the EU and NATO.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of preparing a bilateral security agreement and called for the unblocking of the Ukrainian-Polish border.

During the conversation with Ambassador of Australia Paul Lehmann, the President praised the level of relations between the two countries and thanked Australia for its significant assistance since the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression.

"We are very grateful for your military support. It was extremely important," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The parties discussed the prospects for deepening bilateral political and security dialogue, primarily in the context of the urgent military needs of our country.

Considerable attention was paid to Australia's participation in the Global Peace Summit.

Congratulating Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand Urasa Mongkolnavin on the beginning of her diplomatic mission to our country, the Head of State expressed hope that relations between Ukraine and Thailand would become even stronger and more successful. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted Thailand's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"We are very grateful to your country for the humanitarian aid provided during this war, especially for overcoming the challenges in the energy sector the winter before last," he noted.

The parties also discussed preparations for the inaugural Global Peace Summit to be held in June in Switzerland and the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Thailand to take part in it.

"It is extremely important for us to involve as many countries as possible. We strive for peace. You will see this during your stay in Ukraine – you will see the attitude of our people to life. We have not started any war, but we have to protect our people and children," he emphasized.

During the conversation with Ambassador of Ghana Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, the President thanked for supporting Ukraine at various international platforms, particularly in the adoption of important UN GA resolutions.

The Head of State mentioned the recent opening of the Embassy of Ukraine in Ghana.

"It is very important for us to open Africa. For a long time, your region has been remote for Ukraine, and now we want to make it closer and our relations stronger," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

Particular attention was paid to preparations for the inaugural Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and the participation of the Republic of Ghana in the implementation of the Peace Formula.

The parties also discussed Ukraine's important role in global food security, particularly on the African continent.

During the conversation with Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda Stephen Mubiru, the parties outlined the prospects for deepening bilateral relations in various fields.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted Ukraine's readiness to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with Uganda, particularly in the areas of digitalization, information technology and education.

The President focused on the preparations for the inaugural Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and the necessity of participation of as many states as possible in it, including African states.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine would continue to be a reliable guarantor of global food security, particularly on the African continent.
