President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy received credentials from ambassadors of Sweden, Switzerland, Georgia, Mexico and EU.
The Head of State congratulated Tobias Tiberg on the beginning of his mission to Ukraine as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Swedish Ambassador for the firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country and stressed the importance of maintaining positive dynamics achieved in bilateral trade.
The President expressed gratitude for the support in the restoration of Donbas infrastructure and emphasized willingness to continue a fruitful dialogue with Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven. The Ukrainian side expects Sweden to support projects aimed at increasing energy efficiency, improving the environment and introducing waste treatment in Ukraine.
During his meeting with Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine Claude Wild, the President emphasized the priority of developing bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres. The Head of State thanked for the support and assistance provided by Switzerland to Ukraine and commended the readiness of the Swiss side to host the International Conference on Reforms in Ukraine in 2021.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has renewed the invitation to the President of Switzerland to visit Ukraine.
During his conversation with Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine Teimuraz Sharashenidze, the President noted the strategic nature of Ukrainian-Georgian relations. The importance of continuing constructive cooperation within international organizations and coordinating joint efforts on the path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine and Georgia was stressed.
Particular attention was paid to the preparation of high-level activities under Ukraine's presidency of the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development in 2019.
During a meeting with Ambassador of the United Mexican States to Ukraine Olga Beatriz García Guillén, the Head of State discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the countries, measures to enhance political dialogue, cooperation within international organizations, development of cooperation in trade, economic and other spheres.
Special attention was paid to the prospects of establishing a visa-free regime between Ukraine and Mexico.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Matti Maasikas for the EU’s support for Ukraine. An important contribution of the European Union to the process of reforming the Ukrainian state was noted. The President stressed that the European integration and the effective implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU was a strategic priority for Ukraine. The willingness of our country to work on further deepening of sectoral integration with the European Union in the spheres of energy, digital economy, customs cooperation, trade facilitation, as well as justice and internal affairs was noted.
The Ukrainian side expects that the issue of cooperation with Ukraine will be among the priorities of the new leadership of the European Council and the European Commission.
The President of Ukraine stressed the need to maintain the EU's solidarity in support of Ukraine in countering Russian aggression.
