President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced new Rivne RSA Head Vitalii Koval. The event took place during the President’s meeting with the students of the National University of Ostroh Academy within the working trip to the Rivne region.
One of the first tasks set by Volodymyr Zelenskyy before the new RSA Head is to provide high-quality mobile and Internet connection in the region.
"When we were coming to you, there was no connection at all, let alone the Internet. Mobile and Internet connection in the modern world should be in every corner of Ukraine. Vitalii, please start with this - do it as soon as possible,” the Head of State emphasized.
The President of Ukraine also stressed the need to overcome the problem of illegal amber production.
“We know that there is a big problem with the export of wood and the illegal production of amber. Therefore, we are moving to licensing-related legislative initiatives. But I want you and the new law enforcement officials - both the Security Service of Ukraine, the prosecutor and the police - to really address these issues. So that we have answers in the near future,” he said.
The President also drew attention to the problem of youth migration topical for the region.
“An important issue is migration. We need to unite our youth for the sake of our country by providing normal jobs with normal wages,” the Head of State said.
For his part, the new head of the Rivne Regional State Administration Vitalii Koval considers his appointment as a display of high confidence and great responsibility.
“From now on, the Rivne region embarks on the path of openness and uncompromising stand on fundamental issues. Particularly as regards zero tolerance for corruption, final legalization of amber production, countering illegal deforestation and launching a dialogue between business and government,” he said.
Vitalii Koval said that one of the priority areas of his work was job creation and attraction of investments in the region.
“The basis of our growth is the points that we have to find. It is youth, energy, IT technologies, attraction of those investments that will allow to create added value, not just to export raw materials, sometimes not even registered,” he emphasized.
