President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy talked with Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian, who arrived in Kyiv to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
The Head of State informed his interlocutor about the security situation in Donbas, where extremely high risks remain, as well as about the steps taken by Ukraine to implement the agreements reached during the last summit in the Normandy format in December 2019.
"We have done everything in our power to implement the agreements reached," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He stressed that as long as there is no progress in a peaceful settlement in Donbas, the pressure on Russia must be maintained.
The President of Ukraine thanked France for participating in the inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform on August 23.
"We hope that your state will take further part in the work of this key initiative for us," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President of Ukraine discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation with the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France. The interlocutors touched upon the further implementation of the recently signed and ratified Ukrainian-French intergovernmental agreements, as well as other promising cooperation projects, in particular in the transport sector.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that all topical issues would be discussed during the planned visit of President of France Emmanuel Macron to Ukraine.
