President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy switches to a special work mode as his wife Olena is infected with COVID-19.

Under the Constitution, the President cannot delegate his powers to anyone. Volodymyr Zelenskyy's health conditions allow him to perform his official duties. The Head of State underwent a test for coronavirus. It showed a negative result.

Situations of self-isolation and quarantine were not envisaged in the Constitution of Ukraine. That is why a special protocol of the President's work mode was adopted meeting both the norms of the current legislation and the sanitary-epidemiological requirements.

The President of Ukraine undergoes daily ELISA and PCR testing, as well as medical examinations. He limits the range of physical communication, holds meetings online. Face-to-face meetings involving personal communication with the Head of State are excluded in the coming days. Participation in mass events is also excluded, working trips outside the capital of Ukraine are canceled. The circle of persons with whom the President communicates personally is narrowed down to security and closest aides.

Exceptions to this protocol are possible only in the event of an emergency situation that will require an immediate response by the Head of State in accordance with his constitutional powers.
