The President of Ukraine and the President of Poland Discussed Further Defense and Political Support

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda in Warsaw.

The main topics of their discussion included further cooperation, defense assistance, achieving a just peace, and support for Ukrainians temporarily residing in Poland. In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that centers of unity will be created in Poland, Germany, and other countries hosting Ukrainian citizens.

The Ukrainian leader thanked Poland for its attention and respect for Ukraine and Ukrainians, as well as for all the assistance provided since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In total, Poland has already provided 45 defense assistance packages, and the 46th one is being prepared.

“We must maintain unity with our partners and do everything possible to achieve lasting peace,” the President of Ukraine stressed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrzej Duda paid special attention to investments in Ukrainian arms production, especially drones, as well as Poland's participation in the Czech initiative to supply shells.

“It is important for Ukraine, for Poland, for all of us in Europe to coordinate our positions and together achieve our common goals – the security of our nations, as well as the strengthening of our alliances – the European Union and NATO,” the Ukrainian President said.

He thanked Poland for its unwavering support of Ukraine on its path to the EU and NATO.

“The greatest security guarantee for Ukraine would be, and I hope will soon be, membership in the North Atlantic Alliance,” the President of Poland said.

Andrzej Duda also emphasized Poland's commitment to supporting Ukraine, including by participating in its reconstruction.
