The challenges facing Ukraine force our country to develop faster, and inspire us to become the leader of Eastern and Central Europe, as stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a public session at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
“The challenges facing us, Ukrainians, mobilize us and make us move faster, inspire us to do the incredible and impossible. We program ourselves for positive thinking, for ambitious tasks. In your opinion, what is the task for a country that has lost part of its territory and is by far not the richest in the Old Continent? To become a leader. Yes, to become the leader of Eastern and Central Europe,” the Head of State said.
He emphasized that in order to achieve that goal Ukraine had favorable climatic conditions, advantageous geographic location, inexhaustible agrarian and industrial potential, creative and talented people.
“We don't have just two things yet. There is no alternative but to be successful. This is the first one. And there is not enough investment,” the President stressed.
That is why Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged everyone to become shareholders of the success of the new Ukraine.
"My goal is to have Ukraine in the textbooks alongside the cases of Japan, South Korea, Singapore. So join us! Ukraine should become the investment mecca of Eastern and Central Europe. The main driver for economic development is the opportunity to make a profit. And we are one of the few countries allowing to earn such a high revenue on invested capital,” the Head of State said.
At the same time, he said, our country is becoming a stable and predictable market with significant opportunities for business expansion.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that Ukraine can achieve leadership in Eastern and Central Europe, despite the lag in development in recent years.
"The new Ukrainian authorities are building equal rules of the game for all, purifying the judicial system, digitizing processes, implementing vital reforms and adopting vital laws," he stressed.
The President noted the WEF projects aimed at supporting Ukraine, and expressed hope for further cooperation.
