President: Ukraine Was Convincing on Long-Range Weaponry in Meetings with U.S. Secretary of State and U.K. Foreign Secretary

Ukraine’s stance on the use of long-range weaponry during talks with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.K. Foreign Secretary David Lammy was well-prepared, convincing, and detailed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared this during a press briefing.

He emphasized that delaying decisions regarding the use of long-range weapons allows Russia to relocate its military assets deeper into its territory.

“So, if our partners lift restrictions, it would be highly desirable for this to be part of Ukraine's victory strategy, rather than just a political strategy. Lifting restrictions should mean truly lifting them,” the President stated.

The Head of State noted that granting permission to target Russian military sites with long-range weapons would provide Ukraine with a critical resource.

“If we are allowed to use this weaponry, we should be able to use it as needed, to strike military targets. If restrictions are lifted on certain weapons but those weapons lack necessary missiles, then it’s not truly a lifting of restrictions. It’s another way of avoiding a positive decision on using specific weapons. That’s how we see it, and I was very straightforward about this yesterday,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded.
