President: Preliminary work should be held in the coming months to reset the judiciary

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the renewed composition of the Commission on Legal Reform to work out proposals on judicial reform in the near future. The President stated this on ICTV’s Freedom of Speech on Monday.

"In general, the commission under the Office of the President of Ukraine has already been formed regarding the work of judges and the integrity of the judiciary. We expect results from them: real, serious, fundamental, so that we can really complete this reform. Not ten years later, but during my presidential term. Or even in the coming months. So that we can really prove to society that we want the rest of the judicial branch of power," the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he also stands for resetting the Kyiv District Administrative Court. But, according to the President, this should be done after the launch of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, as it has to elect judges.

"Today, despite this political blind alley, we have a real chance to completely reset and really start reforming the judiciary. We have a lot of normal judges, but also a lot of dangerous judges who constantly come up with dangerous cases, conclusions, decisions due to which we have a lot of problems and no trust in the judiciary. Therefore, today there is a chance to reset, starting with the Constitutional Court," the Head of State stressed.
