During a working trip to the Kirovohrad region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Regional Specialized Children and Youth School of the Olympic Reserve - 2, which is being reconstructed in the framework of the National Program “Great Construction”.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy watched the training of children in the karate section.
After the training, the young athletes presented to the President a diploma of the first master's degree and a personal black belt with the embroidered surname of the Head of State in Japanese and the name of the sport - traditional karate.
Reconstruction of this specialized children and youth school is planned to be completed in October this year.
In addition, four schools, two outpatient clinics and kindergartens are planned to be built in the Kirovohrad region as part of the Great Construction program.
Also in the Kirovohrad region, the program provides for the construction of 172.6 km of roads. In particular, the reconstruction of the highway H-23 Kropyvnytskyi - Kryvyi Rih - Zaporizhzhia is underway. This road was one of the worst in the country.
“One of the main projects for this year in the Kirovohrad region is the H-23 highway. We are building it completely, it is already being repaired throughout the area that runs in the region. We will launch traffic in late September. Now we are finishing all asphalt works. Marking and road safety barriers are left. A new modern European navigation will be installed on this road,” Head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Oleksandr Kubrakov said during a conversation with media representatives in the Kirovohrad region.
The President added that he remembers this road from childhood, and it was constantly in a terrible state.
"My parents and I went to the Kirovohrad region, and there has never been a normal road," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The second major infrastructure facility in the Kirovohrad region in the framework of the "Great Construction" is the M-12 highway, which will connect Kropyvnytskyi with the international corridor and the western part of Ukraine.
"We will have more than a thousand kilometers of perfect road along the entire length, which will completely connect the west with the east," Oleksandr Kubrakov said, adding that the tender procedures are now being completed and the work will begin soon.
No less important is the national route H-14, which is the "road to the South". In the territory of the Kirovohrad region it was repaired earlier, however it almost didn't exist in the territory of the Mykolaiv region. It is planned to launch traffic on it in October this year.
Also, according to the Head of Ukravtodor, an automatic weighing system will be installed on the H-23 highway near Kropyvnytskyi.
"Across the country, we are really building several times more, and in some regions - dozens of times more roads than in any other year of Ukraine's independence. We are proud of this result," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to the Head of State, this is especially true of the Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy regions, where there have been no good roads for years.
The President also announced plans to increase one and a half times the number of repaired state roads next year.
