President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the start of a new project to create a new format of hospitals in each region of Ukraine that will meet the best world standards. He said this during the celebrations on the occasion of the Day of the Medical Worker of Ukraine in Kyiv.
According to the Head of State, this will be one of the steps towards a quality medical infrastructure in the country.
"Hospitals that are equally comfortable for both the patient and the doctor. Work in modern institutions, according to modern methods, on modern equipment. Where nothing prevents you from focusing on the main thing: healing people and saving lives. Actually, doing what young people chose this profession for. The doctor must fight the disease, not the problems of everyday life, such as old elevators, uncomfortable beds, outdated equipment or communications," said the President.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that this project will start this year from regional clinical and regional children's hospitals, which should correspond to the level of leading European clinics.
"It's important: it's not just about the capital and cities with a population of millions. The project will be implemented in every region of Ukraine, and the new facilities will become an example of quality and the basis of master plans for further renovation of all hospitals throughout the country," he said.
In addition, as the President noted, the implementation of the "Large Construction" program is underway, within which 33 hospitals and 260 rural outpatient clinics have already been built.
"By the end of the year, there are plans for another 30 medical institutions, 340 rural outpatient clinics and 200 modern ER departments throughout Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
