In the course of his working trip to the Poltava region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the key problems of entrepreneurs with local business representatives.
"I came here to find out your real problems. In addition to the problems themselves, I am sure there are options to solve them. We are ready to support these decisions or suggest our options,” the Head of State said.
During a meeting, entrepreneurs raised the issues of protection of domestic producers, support of military-industrial complex and machine-building through the provision of public order and public procurement.
Business representatives also stressed the need to set equal rules of the game for all, reduce administrative pressure on private entrepreneurs and conduct further deregulation.
Volodymyr Prykhodko, CEO of PJSC Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works told the President about the failure of the contract for the supply of passenger cars and diesel trains to Ukrzaliznytsia. According to Volodymyr Prykhodko, Ukrzaliznytsia accused the bidders of cartel conspiracy, and the Antimonopoly Committee has been considering a corresponding appeal of the state-owned company for six months.
The Head of State replied that he was ready to visit the enterprise together with Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy tomorrow.
"Tomorrow we will come to you, I called in the Minister of Infrastructure. Now, after our meeting, we will tell him about this issue. He has to come right away with a model for solving this issue,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He also noted that there were a number of frozen infrastructure projects in Poltava, such as the road at the entrance of the city and the swimming pool. Therefore, the President believes, it is better to choose several long-term projects and concentrate on their completion.
For their part, agricultural representatives expressed concern that with the launch of the land market, chaos with the shares would begin.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured the agrarians that the land cadastre should be completely ready before the launch of the agricultural land market.
“It is possible to launch the land market in October if a law is passed. If all the registers, cadastres, everything is ready and digitized, it will be launched. There will be no chaos. If all the cadastres are not ready, then it will take some time and they will be ready. We will complete this reform,” the President stressed.
The Head of State also noted that after the adoption of the law on the land market, the price for the land would increase. Volodymyr Zelenskyy pointed out that the given law was currently being considered in the second reading. More than 4,000 amendments have been made to the document to delay the process.
“One law - about the land market. The law stating that Ukrainians should own their land. We understand for whom it is disadvantageous. Nobody has carried out this reform in 30 years, thus, it is disadvantageous for someone,” the Head of State said.
