The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will consider the problems in the coal industry. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on May 29 during the briefing in Lviv region where two miners were killed in an accident at Lisova mine in Sokalsky district.
"A great disaster happened - we lost two people. We also heard today about the problems with working conditions of miners, security conditions. We understand that it is a very complicated issue. Therefore, we will convene the National Security and Defense Council," the Head of State noted after visiting the mine.
The meeting may take place approximately on Friday, May 31.
The President also stressed that the families of miners killed last night would receive support from the state.
“We have already made a decision to allocate 100 thousand hryvnias,” he informed.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that he would personally help the families of the dead miners with the issue of housing.
