President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with United States Senators Lindsey Graham, Richard Blumenthal and Sheldon Whitehouse, who are visiting Kyiv.
The Head of State highly appreciated the support of Ukraine from the American people, the President and the US Congress.
Zelenskyy thanked the senators for their help in organizing his December visit to the United States and emphasized that, while in Washington, he felt the strong support of the entire American nation: "I appreciate the organization of this visit. I want to thank all of you, the entire society, all Americans."
The Head of State expressed special gratitude to the United States for the provision of another defense aid package to our country, which was announced the day before.
"It'll contain the military equipment and ammunition we need. The United States is a leader in this extremely important issue," Zelenskyy said.
He briefed the senators on the situation on the front line and the steps being taken to counter Russian aggression and liberate all temporarily occupied territories.
The President also announced that he addressed the participants of the meeting at Ramstein air base and called on the partners to immediately provide Ukraine with the weapons necessary for a quick victory over the aggressor.
During the meeting, there was an exchange of views on further steps that could contribute to increasing the support for our country from the US Congress. The issue of strengthening sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation was discussed separately, in particular, the recognition of PMC Wagner as a terrorist organization.
Zelenskyy thanked the senators of the United States for expressing their condolences over the tragedy in Brovary, which killed the top managers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and civilians of the city.
