President Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The attendees heard information on the results of the inspection of the territorial recruitment and social support centers from Director of the State Bureau of Investigation Oleksiy Sukhachov, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin, Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention Oleksandr Novikov, and Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau Semen Kryvonos.
During the inspection of the territorial recruitment centers, law enforcement agencies exposed cases of corruption, in particular during the general mobilization, which pose a threat to Ukraine's national security and undermine confidence in state institutions.
In this regard, the National Security and Defense Council recommended Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhny to appoint officers directly involved in combat operations to the positions of heads of regional territorial recruitment centers on the recommendations of the commanders of operational-tactical and operational-strategic groups of troops, after they have been vetted by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The Prosecutor General's Office, together with the NACP and the SBI, were recommended to take additional measures to counteract corruption offenses committed by officials of the territorial recruitment centers.
