On Sunday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a traditional meeting of the representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and the main state agencies responsible for measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.
The meeting was held by means of communication. It was attended by heads and representatives of the Government, law enforcement agencies, the General Staff, and the NSDC.
The parties discussed the current situation with COVID-19 in Ukraine and the world, as well as the measures our country takes to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
“The second plane has delivered personal protective means, disinfection means, and the necessary medical equipment. Manufacturers have enormous queues for things needed to overcome the infection. But the Ukrainian government enjoys the priority, so we don't have to wait for procurement for weeks. Next week, we expect the arrival of several more aircrafts,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
They also discussed the readiness of healthcare institutions to accept patients with coronavirus and the arrangement of new facilities to monitor those who may be suspected of having the disease. The President reiterated the need to provide people with disinfection and protection means.
“Every pharmacy must have masks. And not with prices increased ten times, but with normal, affordable ones. And it is important that our doctors are protected, because today they are virtually on the frontline. National guards and our military must be protected as well,” the Head of State emphasized.
They also discussed the amendments to the budget, because in the context of anti-crisis measures, some funding will need to be redirected to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
