President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni and thanked her for supporting Ukraine.
The Head of State informed her about contacts with the new U.S. Presidential Administration, particularly about today's meeting with Vice President JD Vance and a recent conversation with President Trump.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Giorgia Meloni discussed joint coordination efforts with partners to ensure a just end to the war. Before starting any negotiations, Ukraine, Europe and the United States should develop a common strategy and action plan, and then participate in negotiations together.
Special emphasis was placed on security guarantees. According to the President, the best and most cost-effective of them is Ukraine's membership in NATO. At the same time, until our country receives an invitation, it is important to secure partners' support in building a strong modern army, enhancing air defense systems, long-range capabilities and the fleet.
