President held a daily meeting to combat the spread of coronavirus

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard the daily report of the government and all agencies involved in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. The Head of State insists that the Ministry of Health continue to systematically inform the population about the risks of coronavirus infection and the ways to protect from it.

"Every day, through different channels - both on television and on social networks - you must tirelessly give recommendations on preventive measures, especially for people who are in a high-risk area: the elderly, those with chronic illnesses and others," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

The parties also discussed increasing people's awareness of the epidemic during the Easter holidays.

"Today is a great feast - the Annunciation. And people, traditionally, want to go to church. We need to speak more actively about responsibility not only for our lives and health, but also for our loved ones and the people around us. We must work to ensure that the Easter holidays are held in a solemn, peaceful and safe manner,” Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak noted.

The reports from all hospitals regarding their provision with protective means, medical equipment against coronavirus and staff would be made publicly available shortly. Now such a platform is being finalized, then data from each medical institution will be checked by volunteers.

"Such a program is needed for the state to collect information, calculate needs and predict supplies, for the media and citizens, as well as for the volunteers to see the results of their work," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted.

Today, virologists are completing the inspection of the regional laboratories, Chief medical officer of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko said. This is necessary to improve the working environment of laboratories for the detection of coronavirus.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard the information from the government officials about conducting church events in a safe format for Ukrainians, as well as about the possibility of conducting worship services online.
