President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an online meeting with representatives of Ukrainian media involved in the United News telethon.
The Head of State congratulated the media workers on the anniversary of the telethon and noted that United News played an important role in building public unity and trust in the context of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
"I think our citizens mostly trust the Ukrainian media. I want to thank you for the great job that you do with pride and professionalism," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to the President, the telethon has become a powerful media front on the path to Ukraine's victory.
"The United News telethon is needed because it is a friend. It's a real comrade whom I trust. I understand that people get tired of the news and are looking for a TV series, movie or program. But how does the day start and how does it end? With the question of what is happening in our country and abroad. What's going on in the war? What’s the situation with electricity? Water? Where are the Russians? Who stands with us and who supports us? I trust this friend - the telethon," the Head of State noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the telethon is an important tool for broader communication of Ukraine's position to foreign viewers. In particular, the President emphasized the need for Ukraine's information presence in Latin America, Africa and Asia to counter Russian propaganda in their media field.
The participants of the meeting discussed the security situation in our country.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of involving as many countries as possible in the implementation of the points of the Peace Formula he proposed.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also discussed with the media the effectiveness of the state's information policy and communication between the authorities and the media during the war.
