Despite the coronavirus epidemic, vaccination of children against measles, tetanus and other diseases has not stopped. This was reported to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the traditional meeting on prevention of the spread of COVID-19. However, the number of vaccinations has decreased by 20%. And this could lead to an outbreak of these diseases in the near future. Therefore, the Ministry of Health will urge parents not to ignore vaccinations.
"It's important that you communicate this to the people. After all, measles, tetanus, tuberculosis are just as grave diseases, no less dangerous than coronavirus infection. We need to explain to Ukrainians that vaccination is important even now,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State was also told that all regions have found opportunities to pay allowance to doctors who have directly fought COVID-19.
The National Health Service is finalizing the signing of agreements for April payments. The emergency medical service has signed 100% of agreements, mobile crews of doctors - 75%, inpatient medical service, which helps patients with COVID-19 - 84%, inpatient medical service, which helps patients with ARVI - 85%. The conclusion of agreements will continue despite the weekend.
In addition, it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers allows the resumption of the work of kindergartens. The main condition for the functioning of preschool educational institutions is compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards. This means that kindergartens can be opened, but are not obliged to do so if they are not ready to accept children, do not have enough protective equipment, thermometers and other necessary things to protect children.
The President was also informed that preparations for the standardized external testing are underway. It should take place according to clear rules to avoid infections. No more than 10 people can be in the room during the testing at the same time.
"All children will come to the standardized external testing. If the premises are not ready, we will have a threat of the outbreak. We have a month to prepare. We must protect our children. The measures should be as effective as the quarantine, which we went through quite well," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
