President inspected the construction of the northern bypass of Rivne

During a working trip to the Rivne region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected the construction of a new northern bypass of the city of Rivne. The road is being built in the framework of the National Program "Great Construction". The project envisages the creation of an uninterrupted ring road around Rivne.

The Head of State was told that the object was started at the end of 2019, when the builders made several sections. In the spring of this year, contractors fully began construction.

The new bypass will relieve the city streets from transit transport and prevent the destruction of road surface - currently up to 14 thousand cars run daily through Rivne. It will also help increase traffic safety, improve the environmental situation in the city, develop the logistics capabilities of the region to connect highways.

The total estimated cost of the northern bypass is over UAH 830 million, of which UAH 310 million has been allocated in 2020.

Completion of the construction of the bypass is expected in 2021.

"Great Construction is an irritant for many of our political opponents. Because it clearly shows people what could have been done in Ukraine a long time ago, if the then authorities were really engaged in the development of the country, not personal enrichment at the expense of the country," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Separately, the Head of State was told that a total of 116 km of roads are being repaired in the region this year. This is the highest figure over the last 10 years. Also three platforms for weighing in motion are being built in the region.

In addition, Head of the Rivne Regional State Administration Vitaliy Koval said that in accordance with the President's instruction given last year, the construction of the road from Rivne to the border with Belarus has been almost completed within the region. Next year, it will be necessary to complete several tens of kilometers to connect the regional center with the border.
