The Russian occupiers deliberately carried out a terrorist attack on civilian objects in the city of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, due to the failures of their troops on the battlefield. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized this at a meeting with media representatives after negotiations with Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen in Kyiv.
"Another deliberate terrorist attack by the Russian Federation. We understand what is happening there, why they hit us. They always hit in this region. And now, they have deliberately targeted the market," Zelenskyy said.
"The attack right on the market, on shops, on a pharmacy. I have been to Kostiantynivka many times with my team, and anyone who knows this place knows perfectly well that it's a civilian area. There are hardly any military units nearby," the President added.
According to him, when successful advances of the defense forces of Ukraine take place at the front, the Russians always strike at civilians and civilian objects – wherever their missiles or artillery can reach.
The Head of State reported that rescue operations are currently underway at the scene.
Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this Russian terrorist attack.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that defeating Russian terror is a task for everyone in the world.
"First of all, for Ukrainians and for our partners," he concluded.
