President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree № 430/2020 on the appointment of Anna Kovalenko to the post of the Head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
During a working trip to the Chernihiv region, the President introduced the new RSA Head to the community of the region and handed her a certificate.
"She will be the only woman in Ukraine who leads the region. More and more women will become RSA Heads. I think this is very important. It is important for all Ukrainians that a person is decent, honest and professional. I believe that this is exactly such person," the President said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the new RSA Head must implement promising and ambitious goals for the development of the region. This is, in particular, agricultural potential.
For her part, Anna Kovalenko expressed willingness to work hard as the Head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration. She noted that she understands well the problems facing Ukraine, as well as the prospects and aspirations of the region.
"I will do everything I can to ensure fast development of this region. And this is possible only due to daily and persistent cooperation with you - the people's deputies present here, the businessmen present here, the future leaders of the regional and local level. And also with the support of the government. I want to promise Chernihiv residents that I will be open and do everything possible to make their lives better step by step,” she stressed.
