President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the cities of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk on the sixth anniversary of liberation from illegal armed groups.
"Today we have a double holiday. After all, in addition to the Day of the Naval Forces, we celebrate the sixth anniversary of the liberation of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk. Six years ago, the whole country helped our army and waited for the good news from the east with anxiety in our hearts and prayer in our souls. We bow to everyone who returned Slovyansk and Kramatorsk to Ukraine," the President said during the festivities on the Day of the Naval Forces of Ukraine in Odesa.
On the occasion of the liberation of the cities, a video broadcast was organized from Kramatorsk where Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal was present.
"Today, we feel the unity of Ukraine, and this teleconference demonstrates the unity of the country - from Odesa to Kramatorsk, every day - from Uzhhorod to Donetsk and Luhansk. Ukraine is united, indivisible, independent and will be peaceful in the near future," the Prime Minister said.
The President of Ukraine reminded that a year ago, on the Day of the Naval Forces, he was also in Odesa, and next to him were the families of Ukrainian navy men who were in Russian captivity at the time.
"I promised to do everything to bring your boys back home so that you can hug them tightly. Today, I want to thank you again for believing in us, for waiting until that moment," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He noted that the Yany Kapu tug, the Nikopol and Berdyansk boats have also been returned to Ukraine, and the blue and yellow flag is proudly flying in Kramatorsk and Slovyansk.
"And all this gives me a powerful charge of strength and faith that we will definitely succeed! We will return all our people. We will return all our territories. We will restore faith in truth and justice. We will return a peaceful, united and indivisible, powerful and invincible Ukraine," the Head of State summed up.
