The President Received Letters of Credence from the Ambassadors of Finland, Brazil, Ireland, Montenegro, Lithuania and Iceland

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received letters of credence from the newly appointed ambassadors of six countries to Ukraine: Finland – Tarja Orvokki Fernández, Brazil – Rafael de Mello Vidal, Ireland – Jonathan Conlon, Montenegro – Borjanka Simićević, Lithuania – Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, and Iceland – Friðrik Jónsson.

The Head of State thanked them for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, congratulated them on the beginning of their diplomatic mission and expressed hope for intensive development of interstate dialogue with their countries.

The key topic of the conversation with the Ambassador of Finland was the priority needs on the battlefield. The President thanked for the significant military assistance, active support of the Peace Formula and organization of the thematic conference on environmental safety in Helsinki.

“We are grateful to friendly Finland for the 25 defense packages already provided to our country. We count on strengthening cooperation to accelerate Ukraine's victory and ensure sustainable and lasting peace on the European continent,” he said.

During the talks with the Ambassador of Brazil, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine, like no other country, is interested in restoring a just and lasting peace and is open to discussing the Peace Formula at various international platforms and in various formats. He noted that he hopes to continue constructive dialogue with Brazil.

“I hope both our countries can improve our peoples' lives together, especially during this war. I believe that we need to communicate and listen to each other as much as possible,” the President said.

The Head of State thanked the Ambassador of Ireland for his country's active support for Ukraine despite its military neutrality and highlighted the recent Prime Minister's visit and the signed bilateral agreement.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Ireland to take part in the third summit of the Grain from Ukraine initiative, which will be held in November.

The discussion with the Ambassador of Montenegro mainly focused on the preparation of the content of a bilateral agreement and further contacts at the highest level.

“I fondly recall our recent meeting with the President of Montenegro during the Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit in Croatia. We are grateful for the support from the very beginning of the war – both at the political level and in various spheres,” the President noted.

During the meeting with the Ambassador of Lithuania, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked for its comprehensive assistance to Ukraine, in particular for the readiness to provide annual defense support of 0.25% of GDP, and commended Lithuania for advocating Ukraine's path to full membership in the EU and NATO.

“From the very beginning of the aggression, the people of Lithuania have stood with us. You are the first country to provide us with Stingers and other military and humanitarian assistance. This is very important,” the Head of State emphasized.

The main topics of the conversation with the Ambassador of Iceland included support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration, the Peace Formula and the Victory Plan, as well as future bilateral and multilateral contacts.

“I thank your country and people for supporting Ukraine. We are very pleased with the development of relations with Iceland and are ready to further deepen our partnership,” the President said.
