The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine is commissioned to introduce an automatic size-weight control system on the roads and reboot the State Transport Safety Service (Ukrtransbezpeka) in order to preserve the new highways constructed under the Great Construction National Program and eliminate the human factor. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the Head of State, due to the lack of trust in Ukrtransbezpeka, a temporary decision was made to involve representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police in size-weight control on the roads.
In addition, as a temporary measure, restrictions were also imposed due to the temperature regime: when the air temperature reaches 28 degrees - the truck stops in any area on any section of the road.
"The Ministry of Infrastructure has been commissioned to reboot Ukrtransbezpeka. It seems to me that the reform here is very simple: as soon as the human factor goes off the road, everything will be fine with the roads. Therefore, the task is to introduce an automatic system of inspection and fixation of cargo. It will be implemented - we have already finished six "pilots" near Kyiv," the President said.
In general, according to him, it is planned to purchase and install 50-80 complexes of automatic size-weight control.
"I think the reform is possible only after this. When Ukrtransbezpeka, the police and the Security Service, which are now helping, leave the road and stop doing that (monitoring compliance with weight norms - ed.)" Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
