President supports construction of a bypass road near Mykolaiv

During the meeting of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy with representatives of the enterprises of the marine complex and shipbuilding industry, among other things, the issue of construction of a bypass road in Vitovsky district and Korabelny district of Mykolaiv was discussed.

MP Davyd Arakhamia drew the President’s attention to the fact that all trucks moving on the roads of the region, one way or another go to the ports, and the construction of the ring road cannot begin for almost 10 years. He asked to support funding for the road construction and noted that the project already exists.

«Having driven through the city and suburbs, I personally saw how much Mykolaiv is loaded with heavy transport, roads are destroyed. So I understand the need to build a bypass road. If you already have a project of this road, everything is prepared, it can be a separate strategic infrastructure project. We will prepare such projects from each region, regardless of the "Great Construction". Let's support this project," the President said.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko noted that Ukravtodor has already worked out the project, and funding can be included in the draft budget amendments related to the implementation of such facilities. Bill № 3991 has been registered and will be considered by the Verkhovna Rada in early September.

The bypass road will help Mykolaiv reduce the number of freight transport in the city. It will also increase the transport capacity of the region and, consequently, the transshipment of cargo in ports.
