President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the opening of the Museum of Science of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine at the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine" in Kyiv. This is the first state museum of science and the first institution of such level.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy launched the museum, activating the main exposition. This happened after the President answered five questions on an interactive tablet.
After that, the Head of State watched the most interesting exhibits. These include an optical illusion, an inverted vision, a pendulum, a square-wheeled bicycle, and an interactive sandbox that can simulate climate change.
Another exhibit allows children to safely break glass, which is usually forbidden by adults.
Visitors can also learn more about the aerogel - the lightest solid material in the world.
"Such a modern interactive museum has appeared in Ukraine - it's great. It is important for children to understand that science is not only complex formulas, although you can't get away from them,” the President said.
Also at the request of the organizers, Volodymyr Zelenskyy recorded a welcome speech in the format of a holographic image.
"I understand that for someone the words "museum" and "science" may sound outdated, like something boring, unfashionable, not hyped up. But believe me - in this place everything is different. You will see that science is cool! Science is on trend! Science is the top!” he addressed all future visitors.
The President stressed the importance of creating such museums not only in the capital, but also in each region.
"I think we will receive a report from the heads of the regional state administrations very soon about the buildings we will use," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Deputy Head of the Office of the President Yuriy Kostiuk noted that such an idea is already being discussed.
"It's a pretty simple model. And not so much money," he said.
"We should do such projects in other regions. And when we talk about others, we mean all regions. No exceptions. We previously talked that there is already a start in three regional centers," Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov noted.
