President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the solemn swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed judges, which took place in the Ukrainian House. Deputy Head of the Office of the President Andriy Smirnov announced the names of 232 judges taking the oath.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the judges on taking the oath and reminded that today Ukraine also celebrates a professional holiday - the Day of Court Employees, which was introduced by a presidential decree 20 years ago.
The Head of State stressed that the status of a judge is honorable, but at the same time very responsible and important. He noted that the judges have a lot of difficult and often ungrateful work ahead, because each party to the court process has its own vision of justice.
"Your mission is to be the guardians of objectivity, impartiality, honesty, the rule of law and equality before the law. And I believe that these are the principles you will always defend during the legal "battles" of the parties in the legal field," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President wished the newly appointed judges success in their work in the name of justice, fairness and for the benefit of the Ukrainian state.
"I wish everyone to strengthen the level of trust of Ukrainian citizens in the judiciary and always conform to the high title of "judge" and such a respectful address "Your Honor" due to daily and hard work, professional qualities and human principles,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
