President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Boryspil multiprofile hospital for intensive care in the Kyiv region, which is being renovated since last year pursuant to the instructions by the Head of State. The renovation of the medical institution is to be completed by July 1.
The Head of State checked the course of major renovation of part of the hospital’s premises. In particular, the maternity and infectious disease department, as well as inspected the already renovated children’s department.
Director of the hospital Oleksandr Shchur noted that the treatment conditions would be significantly improved after the renovation. Endoscopy, bronchoscopy, ECG and ultrasonic diagnosis will be carried out in renovated rooms.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also checked how the state program "Available medicines" works. Oleksandr Shchur noted that at a pharmacy in the hospital, patients could receive discounted medications and free insulin.
The President was also shown the project of reconstruction of the infectious disease department. According to Kyiv RSA Head Oleksiy Chernyshov, the funds for renovation were allocated from local budgets.
Also renovation of the maternity center is underway, a large-scale work will be carried out there. The engineering equipment, plumbing, heating and power supply are being replaced. The department is to be launched by December 1.
During the conversation with media representatives, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the Boryspil hospital should be brought to proper conditions.
“We came and the construction started. There should be a result,” the Head of State emphasized.
“In July, we agreed that this hospital would be renovated within a year. The first part will be launched in March, the second - in June, the third - in July. And there will be a maternity center left that will be renovated by the end of the year,” the President added.
The Head of State said that he would check the implementation of the plan.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also expressed hope that people using the services of the hospital in Boryspil see a gradual change in conditions.
