President personally checked the liquidation of the consequences of the flood in the Ivano-Frankivsk region

During an urgent working trip to the Ivano-Frankivsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally watched the consequences of the flood in the region. The Head of State flew over the territories affected by the natural disaster and got himself acquainted with the course of the liquidation of the emergency situation.

The President was informed that as of the morning of June 25, the intensity of precipitation in the western regions of Ukraine has decreased, and the water level is gradually declining. Maximum water levels have already been passed in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Lviv regions. In Zakarpattia, the situation has returned to normal, there is no flooding of settlements.

Currently, the most difficult situation remains in 15 districts of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, three districts of Zakarpattia and one district of the Lviv region.

At present, 285 settlements, 9,994 houses and 8 obstetrics and gynecology departments are flooded in the western regions; 500 km of roads, 135 bridges and 280 m of dams were damaged.

In total, the SES, together with the National Police and local authorities, rescued 331 people, evacuated 610 people, resettled 290 people and transported 588 people through flooded sections of roads.

After the flight, Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the urban-type settlement of Lanchyn, one of the most affected by the disaster. The President got himself acquainted with the work of rescuers and asked locals about their urgent needs.

The residents of Lanchyn told the Head of State how they escaped the disaster and the damage they suffered due to the flood.

"We will help you. What do you need from us?” the President said.

According to the head of the united territorial community, about UAH 16 million will be needed to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather. Priority works, such as clearing roads, removing fallen trees and debris, will take about 10 days, and the village will be fully restored by the end of the summer.

"We will support you, we immediately allocated money for all such places. Please work so that people do not have to wait because of bureaucratic schemes. The money was allocated. Now the most important thing is to help people," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
