The strategy of environmental protection and development of the agricultural sector was discussed at a meeting chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The aim of the environmental protection strategy in Ukraine is to implement European standards of industrial and food production, modernize industry and preserve the environment. This was stated by Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Roman Abramovsky.
In particular, the parties talked about tools to preserve the environment and minimize corruption risks in this area. The official spoke about the reform of waste management, environmental control, management of Ukrainian forests and the wood market, development of subsoil use, digitization of administrative services in the field of environmental protection and construction of garbage recycling plants.
"No one can argue with people's health. Environmental protection is concrete steps towards reducing illnesses and deaths, and improving the living conditions of each of us," the President noted.
Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leshchenko stated that the historic land reform is about to be finished. Ukrainians will have a transparent land market, and our country will be able to become a "world food supermarket". The ministry is currently working mostly on the restoration, modernization and construction of irrigation systems. Completion of land reform will add momentum to economic growth. In particular, the annual GDP growth is projected to be at least 1%.
