President and Adviser to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom discussed enhancement of defense support for Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Timothy Barrow. 

The meeting was also attended by Chief of the British Defence Staff Antony Radakin and Assistant to the UK Prime Minister on Military Affairs Jamie Norman.

The Head of State thanked Timothy Barrow for the meeting and noted the UK's leadership in the defense support of Ukraine.

"I would like to ask you to continue to convince our partners of the need to provide Ukraine with all the necessary weapons and military equipment," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President and the Adviser to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom discussed the issue of further provision of defense assistance to Ukraine.

In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of providing Ukraine with Western-type military aircraft and various types of weapons necessary to counter the Russian aggressor. He called on the United Kingdom to take the lead in forming an air coalition for Ukraine.

The parties also discussed preparations to the NATO Summit to be held in Vilnius in the summer. The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine expects concrete decisions from the Summit that would bring the end of the war closer and strengthen the security of Europe.

In this context, the President also informed the British Prime Minister's Adviser on the work on creating effective security guarantees for Ukraine while our country is on the way to NATO membership.
