On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz to discuss further support for Ukraine and coordination with partners in pursuit of a just peace.
The Head of State thanked Germany for its assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. Germany is the second largest provider of support to our state. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Federal Republic of Germany has provided assistance worth more than EUR 37 billion. The President particularly highlighted the country's leadership in strengthening Ukraine's air defense. Germany has made a significant contribution to saving Ukrainians and helped protect thousands of lives.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to continued support for Ukraine, including further provision of air defense equipment, and coordination of steps with all allies. This will help strengthen Ukrainian warriors at the front, bolster Ukraine's position and bring a just and lasting peace closer.
Another topic discussed was Germany's cooperation with the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine. The sides explored concrete steps for establishing unity centers in Berlin.
