During his working visit to the Rivne region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited a hospital where Ukrainian military and veterans with complex back injuries are treated and rehabilitated.
The President talked to the warriors, thanked them for their service and honored them with state awards: the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III class, and “For Courage”, III class.
“We are proud of you, your brothers-in-arms, for not allowing our country to be conquered. Thank you for preserving Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He also examined the hospital's operations and toured the physical therapy room, the swimming pool and the robotic rehabilitation room where patients are trained.
The hospital helps veterans reintegrate into civilian life. In particular, here they have the opportunity to study IT as part of a joint project of the Rivne Regional Military Administration and the xWarriors Academy non-governmental organization.
“Thank you, guys, for everything you do to defend our country. And thank you (volunteers — Ed.) for your help,” the President noted.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy was briefed on a project to build a new medical and rehabilitation building for war veterans and internally displaced persons, which will increase the capacity of the facility.
