During a working trip to the Poltava region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the presentation of the Regional Development Strategy until 2027.
In his speech, the Head of State noted that today a series of presentations of strategies for the development of the regions of Ukraine continues, so that each region clearly knows and realizes its benefits.
"Also, each region must understand what prevents it from moving forward, what needs to be corrected, and most importantly - who will be able to do it," the President said.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Poltava region has the potential to become a center of success. So that local youth do not go to Kharkiv or Kyiv, but can realize themselves at home, building a modern, successful, cool region.
"Moreover, there are all prerequisites for this. You have a great potential, both agricultural and industrial. These are the fuel industry, mechanical engineering, ferrous metallurgy, food industry. Crop farming and livestock. And what I would pay special attention to today. What can become a business card of the region is the tourist and cultural potential," the Head of State stressed.
He noted that this region has given Ukraine and the world many outstanding personalities. Ukrainians and foreigners will be interested to travel to the places where they lived.
"Each of these places can become a real cultural and tourist magnet. Not to mention Myrhorod, Sorochyntsi, the battlefield of Poltava and the city of Lubny founded by Prince Volodymyr in honor of the baptism of Kyivan Rus’. As you can see for yourself, your region has a really huge potential," the Head of State stressed.
The President wished success to the Poltava region and emphasized the need for the riverwalk in the regional center.
"I have heard many complaints from locals that Poltava is a city where there is a river and, unfortunately, no riverwalk. I think that the city authorities - obviously not this one, but the next one - should solve this important issue for the people. I know that you have a beautiful park, and all the people of Poltava want it to have not an elite shopping mall, a skyscraper or other incomprehensible buildings, but a promenade and a recreation area for people," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He expressed hope that the Poltava region would develop in the future according to the principle "for the people".
