On Independence Day of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska honored the memory of our country's defenders fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The presidential couple laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance near St. Michael Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.
During the ceremony, a company of honor guard lined up, and the sound of a surma was played.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska observed a moment of silence in memory of the fallen heroes.
The President of Ukraine also honored the memory of activists killed during the Revolution of Dignity in 2014.
On behalf of the Head of State, a basket of flowers was laid at the memorial cross on the Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in the capital.
