The exhibition is designed to rethink the image of Skovoroda, to present new sides of his life and creative path, and to reveal the idea of personal freedom, which has been conquering the darkness for 300 years.
The exhibition allows traveling along the paths of the philosopher's world and getting to know his ideas, and at the same time – Ukraine and the world of the 18th century. Skovoroda lived and worked at a time when great empires tried to destroy the Ukrainian nation and culture, to enslave Ukrainians. So the ideas of personal freedom, which the philosopher professed, became a light of hope for many Ukrainians even after his death.
"It is very important that such exhibitions are organized even during the full-scale war. "The World of Skovoroda" is about the idea of freedom in its various dimensions. And today we are fighting for our freedom," Zelenskyy said.
As part of the "World of Skovoroda" project, one can take a 3D tour of the village of Skovorodynivka in Kharkiv region, where Hryhorii Skovoroda Literary Memorial Museum is located. The exhibition presents an unscathed statue of the thinker from a museum destroyed by Russian shelling, which has become a legend.
Also here one can see Skovoroda's portraits – from the only lifetime to modern experimental ones, comics specially created for the exhibition by Ukrainian artists, listen to baroque music, and play an interactive test game on tablets.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska thanked the organizers for the implementation of this project. They also acquired the complete body of works "Hryhorii Skovoroda. A Complete Academic Collection of Works" prepared by a team of Kharkiv scientists under the leadership of Leonid Ushkalov.
