The President and the First Lady, Together with Foreign Delegations, Honored the Memory of Ukrainians Killed by Russian Occupiers in Bucha

On the third anniversary of the liberation of Bucha from Russian invaders, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska honored the memory of the Ukrainians who were killed. The presidential couple placed votive candles at the memorial on the grounds of the Church of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called and All Saints of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The ceremony was attended by the leaders and representatives of the parliaments of Belgium, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Spain, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Finland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and the European Parliament.

Also present were Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, and representatives of local authorities.

The occupation of Bucha lasted 33 days: from February 27 to March 31, 2022. During this time, Russian aggression claimed the lives of 561 civilians, including 12 children.
