President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the leaders of Nordic and Baltic nations: President of Finland Alexander Stubb, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, Prime Minister of Iceland Kristrún Frostadóttir, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre, and Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal.
The key topic of the meeting was Europe’s role in negotiations toward a just peace and the development of a joint European action plan.
They also discussed continued cooperation in defense and security, Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO, and preparations for the fifth Ukraine – Nordic Summit.
President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the support Ukraine has received throughout the three years of Russia’s full-scale aggression. The Nordic and Baltic countries have provided a total of €26 billion in military assistance.
The President particularly noted recent defense assistance packages and those announced today, as well as the active work of each country to expand this support.
