A Ukrainian veterans policy must be organized to ensure that veterans in our country are fully integrated into public life. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during his speech at the VII International Veterans Forum.
The President signed a decree instructing the government to approve the National Strategy of Veterans' Policy and the Strategy for the Formation of a System of Transition from Military Service to Civilian Life.
“These documents address all aspects of the interaction between the state and veterans, from the initial steps in reintegrating warriors into civilian life to the opportunities for veterans to enhance the lives of their communities, regions, and the nation,” noted Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The details of the National Strategy will be presented by the government. According to the President, the core principle of Ukraine’s veterans policy is respect for the defenders of Ukraine, their protection, and support without bureaucracy, so that each veteran can fully realize their potential.
“I strongly hope that this is how all the structures of our government – the ministry and the government as a whole, as well as local authorities in regions, cities and communities – will understand their tasks in veterans' affairs,” said the Head of State.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also called on defenders to be truly active and energetic, so that Ukraine’s veteran community strengthens the nation’s development.
