The Large Construction national program will be completed when not only all infrastructure facilities are built, but also historical and cultural heritage sites to which new roads lead are restored. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference.
"The road construction project in Ukraine is needed for these roads to exist. I think that before me they were not built normally - at such pace, with such quality. I believe that this is a state position. This is one of my promises. Roads should be a showcase of our country," the Head of State stressed.
The President added that the Large Construction program will be completed when all the facilities included are built. In particular, in addition to the construction of highways, there is a program for the restoration of cultural facilities.
The President also noted that highways are important in a broad sense of the word, as high-quality roads help the State Emergency Service of Ukraine or emergency medical care to move quickly and respond to difficult cases.
In addition, according to the Head of State, high-quality roads contribute to the development of domestic tourism, comfortable travel of citizens.
At the same time, the President noted that taking care of the Large Construction program, he takes responsibility for its outcome.
"I'm responsible for this quality, I want, I press, I invite people, I ask questions. Thanks to my questions 158 bridges have already been built. That's what I do. I do not interfere in the financial part - it is the government and Ukravtodor, I am interested in the pace, location, quality," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He noted that special attention is paid to the infrastructure of the border regions of Ukraine to reduce the risks of impact of other states on these territories.
"We need to invest money, pay attention, repair roads, bridges when there are floods because of deforestation. It is necessary for the President, the Minister to go there, to hold a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers there and stay there until everything is done. That's what needs to be done," the Head of State summed up.
