President gave two weeks to the law enforcement officers of the Lviv region to show the result in the fight against crimes

During a working trip to the Lviv region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting in Lviv with heads of local law enforcement agencies as regards combating corruption crimes. In particular, the parties touched upon the issue of exposing and punishing the activities of conversion centers and inflicting damage to state-owned facilities, including dozens of facilities of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.

In the territory of the Lviv region there is a significant number of infrastructure facilities of the strategic and budget-forming enterprise NJSC "Naftogaz", which are subject to constant illegal actions. As a result, the state suffers multimillion losses.

Despite dozens of criminal proceedings, the results are disappointing, the President said.

The President also drew attention to the illegal deforestation, which was only partially overcome and which is still quite active in the Lviv region. Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the need for special control at customs, namely - detection and counteraction to smuggling, tax evasion. The Head of State stressed that he does not want to change the heads of law enforcement agencies often, but, if necessary, he would have to do so to fight corruption and achieve results.

"Today we have every opportunity for the law enforcement system to be clean, stable and helpful. I support the two-week deadline - to show the result and really show the society in the Lviv region that people can be proud of the law enforcement system in the country. The time and opportunity to protect the honor of law enforcement officers has come," the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stressed the need for law enforcers’ cooperation with the regional state administration.

"We have an opportunity to work as a team," he added.
