President: Without full and constant ceasefire in Donbas it is impossible to proceed to resolution of any political issues

Despite the agreements reached during the Normand Summit in December 2019, complete ceasefire hasn’t been established in Donbas - Ukrainian positions have been shelled more than 400 times in the last two months, as stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“I believe that without full and constant ceasefire it is impossible to proceed to resolution of any political issues in these territories. I insist: in the Ukrainian territories. At the same time, we know for sure that peace in Donbas will prevail. And the wording I don't like - "temporarily uncontrolled territories" - will be gone forever. It will mean that we have returned everything home,” the Head of State said during the Ukrainian Lunch in Munich.

According to the President, the war in Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea, which have lasted for six years already, should not become commonplace for the international community. Despite the fact that there are many challenges and threats facing the modern world.

"It will be possible to speak about stabilization of security in the European region only after comprehensive peace prevails in Donbas and Ukraine regains its territories within the internationally recognized borders," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
