The Ukrainian government is developing a program to support pensioners aged over 75. It will soon be presented to the public. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference in Kyiv.
"We have introduced the 80+ program, and we have added (to the pension - ed.) 500 hryvnias to each pensioner over the age of 80. Now we will develop a program for the next year to implement the 75+ program," the President said.
According to the President, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Maryna Lazebna is working on the development of this program.
The President reminded that in May, pensions were indexed, as well as benefits were paid to citizens whose pensions are less than 5,000 hryvnias.
The Head of State also believes that the government should provide the elderly with normal medicine, the opportunity to buy pharmaceuticals, as well as provide them with personal protective equipment during the coronavirus epidemic.
