Representatives of Ukraine and the United States discussed the situation at the front and defense cooperation in the format of a videoconference

On the instructions of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a meeting was held in the Office of the President in the format of a video conference between the military and political leadership of Ukraine and the United States to discuss the situation at the front and defense cooperation. 

The meeting was attended by Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak and his deputy Roman Mashovets. The Ukrainian side was also represented by Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov, his first deputy Oleksandr Pavliuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhny, as well as the commanders of the Khortytsia, East and Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov, Commander of the Air Force Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the National Guard Oleksandr Pivnenko, and Head of the State Border Guard Service Serhiy Deyneko.

The U.S. side was represented by National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley. 

"Conversations with our allies in such an expanded format, which have occurred before, emphasize the high level of partnership between our states, particularly in the defense sector," said Andriy Yermak.

The Head of the President's Office thanked the United States for the important assistance to Ukraine at all levels, which is vital for our army and our people.

Valerii Zaluzhny and the commanders of the operational and strategic group of troops briefed the American side on the current situation at the front, paying special attention to the offensive actions of Ukrainian troops in important areas of the front.

The key needs of the Defense Forces were emphasized, as well as the need to enhance the protection of Ukrainian cities and infrastructure from Russian air attacks.

The U.S. representatives expressed their great respect for the heroism of the Ukrainian people and assured that U.S. support for Ukraine would continue for as long as it takes.
