The return of captives will have taken place by the end of this year, as agreed at the Normandy summit in Paris on December 9. This was reported by the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group Valeria Lutkovska following the continuation of negotiations with all parties on Monday, December 23, in the skype-conference mode.
"An agreement was finally reached on the mutual release of persons by the end of this year, as was actually agreed during the Normandy summit in Paris. And this is a great piece of luck, as we will finally be able to liberate those men whom we failed to liberate in December 2017, those guys who have been held captive for four years after Ilovaisk, Debaltseve and have not had an opportunity even to communicate with their families for four years,” Valeria Lutkovska said.
According to the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup, the lists are being finally agreed.
"I would like to ask everyone not to manipulate this information, because this mutual liberation procedure affects the fate of people," she stressed.
